Diff checker

Put two versions side by side to see exactly what changed. Changed lines and words are highlighted, long unchanged stretches are folded, and you can jump from one change to the next.

Any text

Paste two versions of a paragraph, a log, a list or a config: the lines and words that differ are highlighted, side by side.

Format first, then compare

Each side has its own language and its own Format and Minify buttons. Format both the same way, and turn on Sort keys for JSON, YAML, TOML, XML (where it orders attributes) or Protobuf text, so that differences in layout or key order disappear and only real changes remain.

Find each change

Changed lines and words are highlighted, long unchanged stretches are folded, and the arrows jump from one change to the next. Both sides stay editable as the highlights follow, and Swap exchanges them.

From the editor and back

Comparing starts from the text you are already editing: it becomes the left side, and a second editor opens next to it. Going back to the editor hides the right side without losing it.

Private: nothing is uploaded

Formatting, checking and comparing all happen in your browser. Your documents are saved in the browser's own storage on this computer, not on a server, so they never leave your device.

With your permission, we count anonymous visits (which pages and tools are used), never what you type. See Privacy.

Questions

Which formats can I compare?

Any text. JSON, YAML, TOML, CSV, XML, SQL and the Protocol Buffers text format can also be formatted on each side first, so only real changes show. Encoded text, such as Base64 or a JWT, is compared on what it holds.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

Your documents aren't: everything runs in your browser, and they are saved on your computer, in the browser's storage for this site. With your permission we count anonymous visits, never their content.
