Flowchart maker
Make a flowchart in a few minutes: drag steps and decisions onto the canvas, connect them with arrows that find their own way, and download the result as PNG or SVG. It opens with a short login flow to change into your own.
Flowchart symbols
- Oval: where the process starts and ends
- Rectangle or rounded rectangle: a step or action
- Diamond: a decision, with one arrow out for each answer
- Parallelogram: data going in or out, such as a form or a report
- Document and cylinder: a document produced, or data stored
- Note: a remark that is not part of the flow
All of them are in the toolbox on the left (keys 1 to 9) and in the shape library.
Drawing it quickly
Hover a shape and click one of its blue arrows to add a connected copy in that direction, or drag the arrow onto a shape that is already there. Double-click a shape or an arrow to type its label, such as "Yes" and "No" on the arrows out of a decision.
Elbow connectors route around the shapes and stay attached when you move or resize them, so rearranging the chart doesn't mean redrawing the arrows. Alignment guides and grid snapping keep the steps in line.
Tips for a clear flowchart
- Run it in one direction: top to bottom, or left to right
- Start each step with a verb: "Check stock", "Send invoice"
- Phrase each decision as a question, and label every arrow out of it
- Split a long process into several charts, and note where each one continues
- When it matters who does each step, draw a container per person or team as a swimlane
From Mermaid
Have a flowchart in Mermaid already, in a README or a wiki? Choose "From Mermaid or SQL…" beside New Diagram and paste it: every node keeps its shape (rectangle, rounded, diamond, circle, database, hexagon, parallelogram), links keep their text, dotted and thick lines, subgraphs become containers, and the chart is laid out top to bottom or left to right as its first line says. From there it is an ordinary diagram to rearrange and restyle.
Questions
Is this flowchart maker free?
Yes, with no account and no watermark. Your flowcharts are saved in your browser as you work.
How do I export a flowchart as an image?
Use Export to download a PNG or SVG, or copy it as an image (Shift+Alt+C) and paste it into a document, a slide or a chat.
Can I edit the flowchart later?
Yes. It stays in your browser under "All diagrams". Download it as a .diag file to open it on another computer, or share it as a link.
