JSON to CSV converter

Paste a JSON list of objects, such as an API response, and see it as CSV below, ready for a spreadsheet: a column for every key, fields quoted where they need to be.

A column for every key

Every key found in any object becomes a column, in the order the keys first appear. An object without one of the keys leaves that field empty.

Nested values

Objects and lists inside a row are written as JSON in their field, so nothing is lost. A list of lists becomes rows without a header.

Quoted where needed

Fields holding a comma, a quote or a line break are quoted, with quotes doubled, as spreadsheets expect.

Copy, download or keep editing

The CSV follows your typing, and a mistake in what you paste is pointed out first, with its line and column. Copy or Download take the CSV as it is; Use as text puts it in the editor in place of what you pasted (Ctrl+Z goes back).

Private: nothing is uploaded

Formatting, checking and comparing all happen in your browser. Your documents are saved in the browser's own storage on this computer, not on a server, so they never leave your device.

With your permission, we count anonymous visits (which pages and tools are used), never what you type. See Privacy.

Questions

How do I convert JSON to CSV?

Paste or open the JSON: the CSV appears below it straight away, ready to copy or download.

What JSON can be converted?

A list, with an object (or a list) for each row. A single object is not a table: put it in [ ] to make it a one-row list.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

Your documents aren't: everything runs in your browser, and they are saved on your computer, in the browser's storage for this site. With your permission we count anonymous visits, never their content.
