CSV and TSV validator
Paste CSV or TSV, separated by commas, semicolons, tabs or pipes, to check it: the badge counts rows and columns, and a quote left open or a row with the wrong number of fields is pointed out with its line. Convert shows it as a table, or as JSON, YAML or TOML, below.
Every row checked
Each row must have as many fields as the header row. A row with too many or too few is pointed out, with the separator that was detected, and so is a quote that is never closed. The badge counts the rows (not counting the header) and the columns.
Quoted fields
Fields in quotes may hold the separator, line breaks and doubled quotes (""). Format keeps quotes only where a field needs them, and keeps your separator.
To JSON and back
Convert → JSON turns each row into an object named by the header row, with numbers and true/false recognised. A JSON list of objects converts back to CSV, with a column for every key.

Questions
Why is a row reported as wrong?
It has a different number of fields from the header row. Usually a field holds the separator without being quoted, or a quote was left open on an earlier line.
Which separators are detected?
Commas, semicolons (common in European spreadsheet exports), tabs (TSV) and pipes. The one that splits every line into the same number of fields wins.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
Your documents aren't: everything runs in your browser, and they are saved on your computer, in the browser's storage for this site. With your permission we count anonymous visits, never their content.
